Overview

Dagu is an open-source, lightweight workflow engine and task scheduler designed to be developer-friendly and easy to run. It allows users to define complex workflows (Directed Acyclic Graphs or DAGs) using simple YAML files, without the need for complex programming languages or heavy infrastructure. Dagu provides a clean, modern web interface that displays workflow structures visually, allows real-time execution monitoring, shows execution logs, and lets users manually trigger or pause processes. Written in Go, it features a single binary execution with an extremely small resource footprint, making it a powerful and accessible alternative to massive and complex orchestration engines like Apache Airflow. Dagu is ideal for small teams, startups, and self-hosted environments that need reliable, easy-to-maintain task automation, scheduled database backups, ETL pipelines, and recurring system maintenance tasks on a single VPS.
